چکیده
4,eOO m in a hypobaric chamber under ambient temperatures of 16°C , 20"C, 24°C and 28°C . Oxygen uptake (Vo2), cardiac output (Q ; C02 rebreathing method), arteriovenous 02 difference (AVOD), heart rate (HR), and stroke volume (SV) were rneasured during two successive submaximal exercises after 2 hours of exposure. Vo2 and SV at high altitudes were similar to those at sea level. Q and HR at a given "o2 significantly increased at high altitudes, and AVOD decreased at high altitudes. No effect of ambient temperature on Q and AVOD was found, but HR showed a combined effect of temperature and altitude : at sea level and at an altitude of 2,OOO m, HR tended to increase when temperature increased ; but at an altitude of 4,OOO m, HR at low temperature was equal to the Iever at high temperature. These results indicated the possibility of vasodilation in the peripheral region even at low ambient temperature at high

Physiological and biochemical responses of Quercus brantii seedlings to water deficit stress
Water shortage is one of the most important environmental stresses in Mediterranean regions. Poor seedling quality may account for the failure of oak regeneration. To determine the best seed origin of Quercus brantii, we investigated on seedlings collected from 20 mother trees in the Zagros Mountain forests 700 to 2200 m altitudes above sea level. Seedlings from different altitudes were irrig...
متن کاملThe Ballistic Behavior of High Strength, Low Alloy-100 Steel at Sub-zero Temperatures
The ballistic response of the high strength, low alloy (HSLA-100) steel at ambient and temperatures of -400°C, -800°C and -1960°C is investigated in this work. Lambert-jonas equation is used to fit the experimental results into a curve. The effect of quenching on ballistic behavior of HSLA-100 is also studied. The experiments are conducted on 3mm thick rectangular specimens impacted by blunt ti...
متن کاملRespiratory physiology of house sparrows in relation to high-altitude flight.
Some birds perform flapping flight at remarkably high altitudes. A commercial aircraft flying at 6400 m. (21,000 ft.) was struck by an object, evidently a mallard duck from the feathers recovered later from a dent in the aircraft (Manville, 1963). Radar echoes attributed to passeriform and charadriform birds have been regularly detected at altitudes of 6100 m. (20,000 ft.) or more during night ...
متن کاملGraphene Nano-Ribbon Field Effect Transistor under Different Ambient Temperatures
This paper is the first study on the impact of ambient temperature on the electrical characteristics and high frequency performances of double gate armchair graphene nanoribbon field effect transistor (GNRFET). The results illustrate that the GNRFET under high temperature (HT-GNRFET) has the highest cut-off frequency, lowest sub-threshold swing, lowest intrinsic delay and power delay product co...
متن کاملDevelopmental plasticity in aerobic performance in deer mice (Peromyscus maniculatus).
While several studies have examined the abiotic effects of altitude (low ambient temperatures and hypoxia) on the aerobic performance of small mammals, few have explored the effects of development and maturation at different altitudes on aerobic performance as adults. We examined the basal metabolism and aerobic performance of deer mice (Peromyscus maniculatus) under four different developmenta...
